It’s Valentine’s Day, and while we here at Behind the Shield think that you deserve flowers and chocolates EVERY day, we hope that those special peeps in your life are showing you a little extra love today…

And speaking of showing the love, it’s no coincidence that Soccer Unites Utah and Real Salt Lake chose this special day to launch our two-week jersey auction. The love and caring thoughts that so many people have bestowed upon Marcia & Andy Williams and their entire family since last summer has been nothing short of inspiring, and we hope that this auction will spur even more people into action on behalf of Marcia and the many thousands of people across the country in urgent need of a bone marrow match.

So today we kick off the auction with some HUGE recent additions to the roster from last Wednesday night’s massive World Cup Qualifier in Columbus, courtesy of our friends at the U.S. and Mexican National Teams - a Brad Guzan U.S. goalkeeper jersey that has been autographed by the ENTIRE USA contingent that was in Columbus, and an authentic Mexican National Team #17 jersey worn by none other than up-and-coming star Giovani dos Santos. Links to the jerseys are included below, and we’ll do the same thing every day for the next two weeks, with links to the auctions being housed right here at Behind the Shield.
