RSL U-18s Downed 1-0 by Rayo Vallecano
The Real Salt Lake Under-18 Team saw its journey in the Mundial Clubes de Futbol Sub-18 tournament in Madrid come to a thrilling, yet ultimately disappointing end this afternoon, as the MLS representative fell 1-0 to Spanish side Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on the training grounds of the Real Madrid complex. The match was knotted up at zeroes heading into the final 20 minutes, but a 73rd minute tally by the Spanish squad would stand tall, ending RSL’s run in Group D play with a respectible 0-1-2 record.
We’ll have more from this game later on, but before we put the final ribbon on this package we just want to give a big thumbs up from the RSL family to the U-18s for representing the club in fine fashion both on and off the field during the Madrid trip.
