Good Luck I don’t see us spending that kind of money on a 36 yr. old midfielder who announced earlier that he was retiring. We need help with strikers given the fact that Yura will be leaving and while Garth and Jason seem to like midfielders who can play either up top or on the back line as well, I don’t believe that Nedved is the long term solution to the teams needs.
Considering we are already pulling in over 16,000 plus a game for home matches, would he sell that many more tickets? Don’t know but I just don’t see this one happening given that the signing of Rachid El Khalifi sounds like a done deal.
I believe that if he came here for 2-3 years, we would get good mileage out of him, great public recognition, and possibly could interest rising stars to come here to be able to learn from a true professional.
From the past few years, I seriously doubt that Garth and Jason are looking at strikers. We haven’t brought anyone worth looking at, including Yura-who isn’t a natural striker, that can hit a broad side of a barn. Note: I think Yura should play on the wing if anything because he has speed, but his shots often look like crosses so it would be worth a shot.
Rumor has it that Czech star Nedved wants to come to MLS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we aggressively pursue this?
