Tino on Loan
RSL has agreed to loan striker Tino Nunez to the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL. Tino will head out tomorrow morning and join the Islanders for the remainder of their 2009 season. The move provides Tino a great opportunity to get some high quality minutes while still rejoining RSL in time for the stretch run…
Good luck Tino! We’ll be keeping our eye on you…

Good luck Tino.
Go get ‘em Tino!
Best of luck to you with the Islanders. We will see you on the flip side of the season for the HUGE push ….
Go RSL……………………
i hope he does well, i think he could be a quality MLS striker one day. I can’t think of a loan to USL that has really paid off for an MLS team or player yet. We need to get more out of the resource that is the USL. good luck tino.
This is a good thing. He needs minutes to develop, and he’s just not getting any. Good luck, Tino.
sweenny09,
I am not so sure. I was watching a Portland game a couple of weeks ago, and when Alex Nimo came onto the field, you could see that being able to get some playing time has been beneficial. Hopefully both of them will come back with some playing time under their belts, and make a push to get involved with the starting team.
All due respect Heffe, but it will take a lot more of playing minutes for nimo to ever be ready for the starting squad. Honestly, I have seen him play for a while and he is just not at this level. He is like a Cutler or Watson. Good players, but just don’t have what it takes.
In Tino situation, I hope his talent develops. He has scored a few times in his limited minutes. In fact, I would start Tino over the unnatural striker we call Yura. Just sayin.
