11th minute: It’s been a lively first ten minutes, with RSL controlling the majority of possession. Striker Robbie Findley had the first real chance of the game, collecting the ball just outside the area and taking his defender one-on-one. After blowing by the BYU back, Robbie saw his shot kept out of the net with an impressive kick save from the Cougars keeper. It didn’t end quite as well for BYU just a minute later, when Andy Williams collected in the middle of the pitch and fed Yura Movsisyan streaking into the area. Yura collected with his right foot and easily rifled the ball far post past the diving keeper. 1-0 RSL.

13th minute: Apparently that’s all RSL needed to get things going. Just two minutes after taking the lead, Raphael Cox found himself free down the left side. Rafa fired an impressive cross at the near post that found Yura making a beautiful run. The 22-year-old striker took the cross and one-timed it with his left foot, the ball ricocheted off the keeper, post and keeper again before finding the back of the net for a 2-0 RSL lead…

25th minute: Wow! Robbie Findley shows off his wheels. Yura tracked a ball down on the right side and found Robbie pushing hard towards the area. Robbie collected the ball, snuck the ball and himself between a pair of center backs, before finishing past the on-rushing keeper. 3-0 RSL…

30th minute: And we’ve got a Nelson Gonzalez sighting. The fiery little Argentine replaces Jean Alexandre. Will Johnson will slide into a holding role while Nelson will occupy Will’s left-sided spot.

37th minute: Yura’s all over the place. This time he tracks back into the midfield and makes a physical challenge on the ball. It earns him a yellow, but it’s certainly good to see the effort.

Halftime: We’ve hit the break out here in Provo. It was a pretty dominant display from RSL as BYU enjoyed only a couple mediocre chances. There will surely be some wholesale changes to the side in the second half. We’ll have those and more in a few…

We’ve got a bunch of new faces coming out to start the second stanza. Check out the lineup below…

GK - Chris Seitz; DF - Robbie Russell, Jamison Olave, David Horst, Tony Beltran; MF - Clint Mathis, Jean Alexandre, Javier Morales, Nelson Gonzalez; FW - Pablo Campos, Fabian Espindola

49th minute: The Argentine connection is up and running. Javier Morales collects a ball in the middle of the pitch and lays off to Nelson Gonzalez. Nelson collects, feints left and cuts inside to beat his defender before firing a low right-footed shot that finds its way inside the near post and past the diving keeper. 4-0 RSL

64th minute: We’ve got another sub. RSL captain Kyle Beckerman enters in place of Jean Alexandre in the center of the pitch.

66th minute: Only an impressive save from the BYU keeper was able to keep Nelson off the scoresheet again. The play started with a switching long ball from Olave to Espindola. Rather than collect, Fabi simply headed the ball into Nelson’s path at the corner of the area. A cheeky chested flick from the little Argentine midfielder saw him beat his defender. His resultant shot was destined for the net before the keeper’s diving stop.

72nd minute: BYU isn’t giving up. Shortly following a restart, the ball found its way out wide right. The Cougars’ midfielder collected and fired a driven cross through the area. The ball found its way over the majority or the RSL backline and onto the foot of a sliding Blake Tillotson. The BYU striker struck the ball just enough to get it on frame and into the far corner. It was certainly an impressive goal from the home side.

72nd minute: On the restart from the goal, RSL replaced Pablo Campos with fellow striker Tino Nunez.

End of Match: And that’s a wrap. The final 15 minutes saw a handful of RSL chances, including Fabi striking the post on an impressive effort, but no goals.

We’re going to get out of here. Thanks for joining us. Enjoy your weekend…
