Well, congrats on the win but really I think we were very lucky to escape with that one. Chivas completely controlled the second half. RSL was hardly a presence in the second half. My wife and I just sat there biting our nails the last 20 minutes just waiting for a goal to go in for Chivas. We didn’t have any possesion and once again just hunkered down in our half and were just bombarded by Chivas. I hate when we do that. Props to our back line though! Overall they were very solid. Olave and Borchers are great in the back. I don’t know what needs to be done about Beckerman. He just isn’t playing with the same fire as he did when he first got here. He seems really lazy on the ball.
I hate to be so critical, afterall we did get our first road win, but it wasn’t a very pretty win and I think we got lucky. But hey, what matters in the end is that we had more goals than they did. Good work!
We will take it, a win is a win. Thats soccer for you, sometimes the lucky team wins.
It was important to get this road win, but it will take a win on Wednesday (which is expected, although tough to beat a team three times in a short period) to get us some confidence heading into Saturday’s fixture. We have a great chance to make some things happen in the next two weeks.
Yeah it wasnt a beautiful win. However, I totally agree with Kreis, this is a huge boost for us mentally.
Going into Wednesday’s game we have an undeniable advantage: we’re at our best at home and we’re coming off a huge road victory (even if it was ugly/lucky).
A win against the quakes gives us the best streak of the season, 2 wins. This would be invaluable going in to Saturday’s match against NE. (I know thats optimistic.) While the wins might seem cheap, don’t discount what that would do for us mentally. I agree with Pete, a win is a win.
So c’mon guys, play like you want it. Let’s turn our season around.
