Game Day (Updated w/ Video)
Update: If the Game Guide wasn’t quite enough to satisfy your RSL fix, we’ve got more for you. Check out the video preview of tonight’s affair we’ve got posted below to see what the guys think of the match.
It’s a big day today in RSL land. The squad has a chance to vault into first place in the Western Conference with a victory. It’s the third time this season we’ve been able to say that, but the first time that the match has been at home. An important fact considering the guys are unbeaten in Salt Lake this year. It’ll be a great matchup tonight, as the two time defending champion Houston Dynamo are in town for their first meeting with RSL this season. Click here to read all about the game and what you can expect to see with the official MLS Game Guide…
P.S. If the game’s not enough to get you excited, we’ve also got a great fireworks displayed lined up to celebrate tomorrow’s Fourth of July holiday. Seriously, what’s better than that? A battle for first place, great atmosphere, and some fireworks to boot! Everyone should be there tonight.

The first think I notice at looking at the MSL Report on tonight game is that Cuttler starts because Dema Kovalenko has too many yellow cards. This is like playing short, Cuttler would be lost playing for a U-15 comp team, why not just move the other starters around to cover that space–drop Beckerman into the holding midfield, might make him work a little bit more, let findley run the wing (running is what he does best) and just add some other body upfront, Tino Nunez (that;s about nothing). This is way to much for Kreis.
Show that the Dynamo are a dud and take first place from LA… FINALLY.
(fingers crossed) the third time is a charm
why not put mantilla in the holding center mid spot. All it is mostly is a more forward center back
I agree with Robo55. The only reason Cutlet plays is to bring in fresh legs late in the game. To have him start and play 65+ seems to be a dangerous spot. Perhaps switching tactics and shuffling a few players is a better solution than the simple player swap. Other threads have suggested Mantilla at holding mid…it’s an idea.
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Go RSL…………………
I’m with the idea of playing Mantilla at D-mid, or while we are talking about what would be nice is to still have Cordoba and move Beckerman back to D-mid and Cordoba out wide. July 15 can’t come soon enough. I don’t feel the same depth I felt before.
Culter starts and RSL loses. I hate that this will happen.
15 and Nuss
I’m with you guys. I like Matias in the DM. But I guess we’ll be seeing how Cutler does tonight. I’m not optimistic but hey, you never know.
I really want Mantilla back in the lineup. He is a strong player and could benefit us. Cutler is a SOLID player, he is a hardworker and defensive minded. I have no problem with him starting. Plus he has had, and created some good chances for RSL this year.
OLE!
I luv RSL, but don’t think we win or tie tonight. Dynamo has our number, and win 1-0.
Paging mr striker, mr, stiker, please report to the pitch.
No to Cutler, he looks like a bobble headed mushroom out there and doesnt do anything.
Yes to Mantilla if healthy
GLORY GLORY RSL!!!

Major RSL fan here. I predict we lose because Culter gets the start. This guy may be an OK sub sometimes, but as in KC, he can really blow it.
1-0.
Nobody seems to be saying that RSL is likely to be in 5th place or tied with Colorado in 5th place after the weekend.
Believe it. sorry everyone, but this one isn’t going to be good for us. After this weekend, we are only likely to win 1 or 2 of the next 6, and maybe 3 in the next 12. Our run is over, and we will be back to 6th or 7th place.
Deb!!!! right spot on mate!!!! Real SWlat Lkae will win this game tonight!!!! let’s cheer our hardest and get 1st place and leave Beckham in the dust!!! haha if we can!!
We need more help than just leaving Cutler out of the lineup, although that would help! We need more help attacking the goal. The Dr. and Findley are no good. Not sure what other options we have though. Espindola would be ideal and everyone thinks Yura is crap, but I like him better than the other options. He just needs to figure out the art of passing. At least he can keep the ball at his feet unlike the Dr. and Findley. Mantilla is fiery so I would like to see him starting and I don’t really care where they put him.Hopefully Beckerman and Morales will be in the attacking mood and that always makes the situation better!
I have a real good feeling about the game tonight. Dont let me down fellas. Our gameplay has improved substantially since day one of the season. We have a ways to go, especially getting another striker. I believe Deuchar is quality and that with better service he would shine. (Though he isnt without fault–he should have more than 2 goals)
We need help in the middle AND up front. PLEAE KREIS & GARTH! Find us someone good during the transfer window! The playoffs are within sight, lets keep it that way.
Tonight RSL wins 2-1.
