It’s About Time … It’s Alvaro!!!
Yes, we’ve seen the comments, and yes, we’ve wanted to say something as badly as you have wanted us to. And now that the i’s have been dotted and the t’s crossed, we can finally say that striker-extraordinaire Álvaro Saborío is a member of Real Salt Lake. While there’s still some issues to hash out (such as the finalization of his work visa and the International Transfer Certificate getting from his Swiss club, FC Sion, to the folks at US Soccer), we can acknowledge that the Costa Rican is indeed with the squad (finally), and, even better, that he’ll be eligible to suit up for RSL’s Carolina Challenge Cup opener tomorrow against D.C. United. However, until the visa and ITC issues are finalized, Álvaro will have to wait patiently to play in MLS contests for the Utah side.
So breathe deep, exhale and rejoice … and then envision Mr. Saborío doing this to goalkeepers across MLS this season!

Welcome to RSL & SLC Saborio!!!
great addition, glad we made it happen… now lets hope we actually have a season
thats great news…
Awesome! I am so excited
Glad to have you, Sabo!
Yessss! Finally!!! Thank you for making this happen! Can’t wait to watch him work his magic.
Very cool!!! Lets hope he can get good service.
Is that Douglas S. at 3:00?
I hope he’s good, but from those clips, it seems to me that the keepers are worse than mls’, and it definitely doesn’t look like he’s been playing against teams as physical as mls’ either. I hope he can adjust. Good to have another forward. RSL!
Welcome to RSL Alvaro!!! Glad to have you. If you work with this team, as a team player, these guys will make you a star. I look forward to seeing you preform at the Carolina Challenge, and throughout the season.
He won’t be that open in MLS. Even Eskedarian could have made goals if he was that open.
Great move RSL!
I just hope he can do a little creating for himself. It seemed like he was left alone on a lot of his goals or bang in the junk which isn’t bad but we really need a striker that can create.
