It’s “Day Dozen” here in Charleston, and, as you can tell from the video below the gang is really stressed out. We invite you to enjoy “The Great Freekick Challenge” piece below before taking the jump for some more news & notes from this glorious Gameday Eve here in South Carolina.

RSL Charleston Camp Day #12 News & Notes

  • We finally figured out how to use the new Behind the Shield HD FlipCam, so instead of posting the usual photo gallery we’re working on getting some videos up to show glimpses from this morning’s session. Instead of cluttering the page with video boxes, we’ll simply provide links to the videos housed on RSL’s YouTube Channel:
  1. TRAVEL! (26 secs)
  2. A little game o’ possession (1m 06s)
  3. Going to goal (44 secs)
  • It was another spirited and thorough 90-minute session today for the guys, starting with some games of “TRAVEL!!!” and moving onto some limited-touch possession affairs. Then it was onto some some-sided games to goal with ‘keepers on a 40-yard field before ending with some work on attacking drills that stressed moving the ball inside and out with some crossing work to boot.
  • Some good news on the injury front, as everyone in camp was able to train fully today, meaning all hands will be on deck for Carolina Challenge Cup Game #2 tomorrow night against the host Charleston Battery.
  • Speaking of that game, you’ll be able to watch it live online thanks to the fine folks at Toronto FC TV and the Battery. Just swing by here and we’ll have the video feed up live beginning at 2:45 p.m. MT, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm. If you can watch it, then follow along on the official RSL Twitter feed, which will have the minute-by-minute updates you all crave!
  • A couple of featured Q & A links today by and about one Nick Rimando. First, the netminder extraordinaire turns the spotlight on Ned Grabavoy for a Q & A for the Nick is my Homeboy blog. Then, In this Week turns the tables on Rimando, featuring him for this week’s “Scene in SLC” feature (on newsstands near you on Thursday!).
  • We’ll also feature a couple of links from the folks over at Keepin’ it Real, who received a “Postcard from Charleston” from Tony Beltran and gave us a glimpse into what MLS’ version of the 1987 NFL season could look like in Utah … not very pretty, but very, very funny!
  • Forecast for kickoff on CCC Gameday #2 … 56 degrees with, of course, a 50% chance of showers. Check in tomorrow around lunchtime for some pre-match notes and some more tidbits from Chucktown!
