A Texas-Sized Showdown
After what seems like months without a match, your first-place Real Salt Lake are in Houston and ready to take on the two-time defending champion Dynamo. It’s going to be a very tough match, but the guys have been working hard to get themselves ready. It may seem like the odds are stacked against the guys (hot and muggy Houston weather, long layoff, a tough and in-form Dynamo squad, etc.) but we’ve definitely got a few things working in our favor as well.
- New signing, Clint Mathis, is with the team and will be available for selection in the 18
- Goalkeeper Chris Seitz is back from China and trained with the guys yesterday and is also available for selection
- Midfielder Alex Nimo is back from his U-20 duty and has joined the team in Houston
Take a look here to check out the MLS Game Guide for tonight’s match and get a peek at what a few of the guys had to say about the game with the video below…
And remember, you can join either of the official Real Salt Lake viewing parties (at Brewvies and Lumpys in SLC) or you can tune into the action at home on KSL 5.3 (Comcast channel 105).

So since there was no mention Friday of any further moves, can we assume that we have ended the international transfer window with one roster spot still open?
Please tell me we are not really considering a deal with the Galaxy for Carlos Ruiz, I for one would have to consider cancelling my 2009 season tickets if he is part of the team. He has been a cancer for Dallas for years, and his overpaid, diving, worthless butt doesn’t add any value. I would rather miss the playoff and finish in last than have to cheer for a team with him on the roster.
