The team is settled in New Jersey and ready for tomorrow night’s match at Giants Stadium vs the Red Bulls. Much like RSL, the Red Bulls are in the thick of the MLS Cup playoff chase. Sitting on 32 points, New York currently holds the fifth best point total in the Eastern Conference, however the total is still enough to have them in the current playoff picture as 32 points is enough to occupy that ever-important wild card slot ahead of the fourth place Western Conference team. RSL sits at 31 points and in second place in the West, the strongest position they’ve been in, this late in the season, in their four year history. A road win tomorrow would push RSL to further up the table as third-place Chivas USA is stuck on 30 points after falling 4-0 to New England yesterday. With every team so tightly bunched in the standings, every game is critical, but a victory tomorrow would go a long way towards getting RSL where they really want to be.
