Soccer Unites…
As we’ve talked a bit about several times in the last few weeks, Andy Williams and his family have recently been struck by a very serious health issues regarding Andy’s wife Marcia. Just a couple months ago, Marcia was diagnosed with a very rare form of Leukemia and her course of treatment calls for an aggressive and comprehensive series of treatments. Due to the complex nature of the treatments, the out-of-pocket expenses to the Williams family will be very high. As a member of the Real Salt Lake family, we’d like to lend a helping hand to Andy and his family.
Tomorrow’s a perfect opportunity to get started. In coordination with Soccer Unites, Real Salt Lake will be present at the Juan Diego and Judge Memorial soccer team fundraiser. The two teams are setting aside their heated rivalry to lend a helping hand to the Williams family. Join us at Juan Diego where the two teams will host an evening full of fun, soccer-themed events with all proceeds from the night benefiting the Soccer Unites cause.
The night’s slate kicks off at 6:00 p.m. when the boys teams from Juan Diego and Judge face off in a 20-minute match. After the boys’ match, the girls will take the pitch. Each team has spent the past several weeks selling $5 tickets to the night’s event. upon game time, the team that has sold the most tickets will have the honor of being coached by RSL Head Coach Jason Kreis. Not to be ignored however, the opposing team will be joined on the sideline by another member of the RSL coaching staff.
The soccer’s not done after the girls finish up though, as the final match of the evening will pit a celebrity team against a squad of former RSL players and reserves. The celebrity squad will be led by Good Things Utah’s Angie Larsen and several of the players scheduled to appear include Jacque Rimando (former professional player and wife of Nick Rimando), former RSL stars Brian Dunseth and Brian Kamler, along with the entire RSL coaching staff. This could be a match slightly more heated than your average celebrity affair, you won’t want to miss it.
And what could be a better way to wrap up the evening than with a little music? Everyone who sticks around after the matches will be treated to a little jam session with current RSL players Kyle Beckerman, Chris Wingert, and Nik Besagno, as well as former RSL man Seth Trembly. Sounds like a perfect cherry on top of a wonderful evening
So to wrap things up - Tuesday night 6:00 p.m., Juan Diego High School Stadium (300 East 11800 South, Draper), $5 per person, and a big heart. See you there…

man!!! i want to go but can’t… this sucks but have fun!! sing a great one for me Kyle!! hahaha
Wish I wasn’t working tonight, I’m a Juan Diego alum in addition to being an RSL supporter. Good luck, hope there’s a great turnout!
Sounds like a good time! So any word on the bus for anyone who wants to go to Colorado for the last game?
can we have a email list….I would have been there if I had been alerted. whats up with casino night fund raiser I heard about?
I thought it went really well - i got to chat with alot of players -Javi, Borchers and Dema are way nice in person and i managed to get a total of 14 autographs. The turnout was pretty decent too - not sure, but I estimated that there were at least 800 people there. Hopefully this will help the Williams’ with the medical bills and hopefully this will help bring the team closer together which will hopefully translate into some good results for us on the pitch. Also, Wingert and Beckerman (and I think Besagno was playing the guitar too) played some great hippy anthems at the end of the event, but unfortunately very few people stayed to listen to their efforts. Anyway, hope this helps paint a picture for those who couldn’t make it. Feel free to ask questions or comment. Peace/
Well it’s sad when Andy gets something together to support his wife and no one really shows up. There were more Juan Diego Girls Soccer team players there then any “Real Fans”. My Wife and I went and we felt like we were at a high school get together not a RSL Fundraiser. And you call yourself fans.
The event was great! This event was sponsored by soccer rocks Utah! For those of you that would like to get involved with casino night please go to: http://www.soccerrocksutah.com. The casino night is October 11. Thanks to the Juan Diego and judge women’s soccer teams who did an awesome job at selling tickets for this fundraiser!
Hey everyone, thanks again for the support we received last night! IT was AWESOME! Just caught The Good Things Utah Hosts and if you happened to see it, they were extremely impressed with our RSL Family, Juan Diego and Judge Memorial participants. This actually was an event put together by Juan Diego and Judge Memorial High School Girl’s Soccer Team. The fans were of course invited. BUT, the big one is our CASINO NIGHT! This will be held on October 11. To stay updated on ALL events, and purchase tickets, you can vist our website, NOT SOCCER ROCKS, haha that was a couple years ago, but thanks for remembering that awesome night as well, but http://www.soccerunitesutah.com

Lots of people could not make this as it was on a Tuesday night at Juan Diego…
Dont criticize the fans for having their own family to attend to as well (myself included)
