One of the only landmarks on this planet that can be seen from space, the mine is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether it’s watching haul trucks the size of houses deliver copper ore to the in-pit crusher or standing at the overlook and feeling the breathtaking and awesome magnitude of the mine, visiting the mine will prove to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
The visitor’s center features educational and hands-on displays about how Kennecott produces copper, gold, silver and molybdenum – which are essential to creating the products used in everyday life. The Center also features historical collections, educational exhibits and interactive kiosks about the operation. Visitors can also enjoy a 16-minute film on the mine’s history and the process for producing copper.
