The Real Salt Lake combined U-17 Team that’s competing in the SUM U-17 Cup in Houston isn’t the only youth squad making some waves this week. Let’s hear it for the RSL-Florida U-16 Boys Team, which has advanced to the Final of the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships, taking place in Overland Park, KS (just outside of Kansas City).

After defeating PSC Coppa (Philadelphia) and Slammers FC (Newport Beach, CA) and tying the Grand Rapids (MI) Crew Juniors, RSL-Florida would finish alone atop the six-team final group on seven points. That set up a final against the same Slammers FC side that RSL-Florida defeated 1-0 on Friday, give the Floridians the top spot. Sunday’s final at the Overland Park Soccer Complex is set for a nice and early 10:30 a.m. local / 9:30 a.m. MT start, and we’ll make sure to pass along the result as soon as we here it!
