More Movement
Today we can confirm yet another move that has been rumored in recent days, as Real Salt Lake and forward Kenny Deuchar have mutually agreed to part ways so that the striker can return to Scotland.
“We have reached an amicable, mutual agreement with Kenny that will allow him to return to Scotland and play for Hamilton” Garth told us just moments ago.
Despite some struggles to find the back of the net, Kenny was a very quality player and a great person to have in our organization. We would like to wish Kenny the best. He will definitely be missed in these parts.
Also, in our conversations with Garth, he did confirm that striker Robbie Findley is currently training with Danish power Brøndby IF. This is a great opportunity for Robbie to get some extra training and fitness in before he returns to Salt Lake for the players’ January 29 report date.

It did not work out like we all hoped, so I think this is best for both parties. I hope Kenny can go home and score a crapload of goals. Best of luck Dr.
Good in the air, suspect with his feet, but its a long way from home to be sitting the bench. Hope he regains form back home. You guys should post these vids if you haven’t already.

Too bad we couldn’t get some players that could cross the ball. He just couldn’t get the service he needed to succeed at Real.
it’s unfortunate the team couldn’t find a way to get the ball to deuchar in the air. he’ll be the player my family misses the most, best wishes to him.
What about Espindola? I heard he might be on the move. Sorry to see Kenny go. MLS just wasn’t a good fit for him. I’m sure he’ll do great back in Scotland where they are actually allowed to play physicial. Findley IS coming back, riiiiiiight?
I have heard that Findley is on trial with Brøndby IF. and if it goes well he will be staying with them? If this is the case and does happen, we are stuck with 1 striker up front in Movsisyan (being that espindola and duechar are gone). Unless your counting on Mathis to score 20 goals this year this would put real in a very bad position to improve our front line. I know you cant comment on rumors or possible players coming in but are we actively looking for a big time striker and trying to make some deals????
Mathis shouldn’t even be anywhere near the pitch
Jake it is a training agreement, now those things can change but Robbie is expected back next week when RSL starts their Physical training portion of the preseason.
Tino Nunez did a great job when he got playing time last year, and while RSL is looking for another striker, you can also use Andy or Clint in the attacking positions. Also remember that Will Johnson’s natural position is forward and Behembe also plays forward.
I do think you will see us looking for a high impact player to fill a forward spot, not sure if it will be DP level, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we spend over $250K on the position.
There is a rumor out today about Vicente Vuoso from Santos being linked with RSL, now that would be interesting a starting striker for the Mexican National team playing for RSL.
We better get someone, the only good striker we have is Yura.
My first comment wasn’t posted apparently…
DO ANYTHING TO KEEP ESPINDOLA! NO TE VAYAS FABI ACA TE QUEREMOS!!!
Wow, has everyone lost faith already? We are less than 3 months removed from a Western Conference Finals that no one could have predicted at the beginning of the year and already the panic has begun to set in. How many of the players lost so far made a seriously significant contribution to RSL’s playoff run last year? You could make an argument for Espy or Dema, but both were still overpriced and underplayed. Sturgis hardly saw action because of continued injuries, and the good dr. just couldn’t contribute in any way possible. James, have you ever heard of Robbie Findley? How about Tino Nunez, who contributed some solid minutes early on in the season? The FO has done an amazing job of securing those players who led the team last year, like Javy and Olave, and cleaning house while earning some cap space with the moves listed above. I can’t believe that they don’t have a few options on the table to add depth and experience to the roster before the season starts.
I can’t believe they’re going to let Fabi go. Still trying to hang on to hope that its a terrible rumor. I ALSO can’t believe they would expect excitement by telling us they’re looking for Vuoso. While i don’t, nor SHOULD anyone, have anything against Mexico or its people in any way, they are our RIVAL when it comes to soccer. BITTER rival. Known throughout the world rival. Anyone ever see the innumerable fights on the pitch between US and Mexican national squads, or hear Alexi Lallas talk about USA vs Mexico? Am i alone in thinking that i would never say “Yay Vuoso right now because you’re playing on RSL, but boo next week when USMNT plays Mexico”? KEEP FABI FORGET ABOUT VUOSO. They should both stay where they are.
